While the media and certain chatterbox bloggers focus on national numbers, state polling is where it’s at. So the best way to move those numbers is to focus on state issues. Obama got off to a good start yesterday with his Ohio ad, and now he’s got a great ad above which blasts McCain for his Yucca Mountain support, while contrasting that with his refusal to have nuclear waste shipped through his home state. It is really an excellent ad, portraying McCain as a typical NIMBY politician. Plus, in the 24-hour news cycle, releasing these local ads has the benefit of getting some national buzz. Based on the McCain freakout yesterday on the DHL issue, it must be working. More please.
