Obama vs. the other guy, 2008

If This is True…

If this is true, then I no longer have a problem with him taking that vacation to Hawaii:

Barack Obama may be the fresh face in this year’s presidential election, but nearly half say they’re already tired of hearing about him, a poll says.

  1. Why did you have a problem with him taking a vacation? Worried about him being swiftboated while on break?

  2. Just worried that there might be a lost opportunity. The election’s only three months away.

  3. I was a little worried to about Obama taking a break at this point in the election, but I do hope his team (which I know they know this already) will hold him down and keep the Ads coming in his down time, Obama is still human and he needs the break to get his thoughts together, I do, however, like the new strategy of Obama hitting back and hitting HARD, it’s about the damn time!

  4. It’ll be a semi vacation.

He’ll brush up on his acceptance speech and he’ll read his briefing books and prepare for the debates.

but atleast he won’t be flying around the country and he’ll be able to catch up on sleep and play with his children.

And seeing his Nann before Denver will be energizing.

  5. Agree Al – and I think Hawaii has historical resonance – I’m sure he’ll visit his grandfather’s grave, etc. A semi-vacation indeed.

  6. Well, it is true.
However, as we all know, that focus has been disproportionately biased, with Obama receiving predominately negative press, while the coverage on McCain has been overwhelmingly positive. And it will only get worse, as we inch closer to the GE.
Going back to Hawai’i will indeed have historical resonance. And a good leader knows when to take a break. Just keep one eye open, and one ear to the ground. And perhaps have a Veep pick to watch your back? Stay tuned!
