Obama vs. the other guy, 2008

McCain = presumptuous

It’s being written about – on page 14. But at least they’re writing about the man who called himself President – before the election:

Standing behind a lectern in Michigan this week, with two trusted senators ready to do his bidding, John McCain seemed to forget for a moment that he was only running for president.

Asked about his tough rhetoric on the ongoing conflict in Georgia, McCain began: “If I may be so bold, there was another president . . .” He caught himself and started again: “At one time, there was a president named Ronald Reagan who spoke very strongly about America’s advocacy for democracy
and freedom.”

And yes, they decided to bring up the old “Obama is presumptuous” attacks.

The extent of McCain’s involvement in the military conflict in Georgia appears remarkable among presidential candidates, who traditionally have kept some distance from unfolding crises out of deference to whoever is occupying the White House. The episode also follows months of sustained GOP criticism of Democratic Sen. Barack Obama, who was accused of acting too presidential for, among other things, briefly adopting a campaign seal and taking a trip abroad that included a huge rally in Berlin.

Yes, because a speech and a placard are the same thing as interfering with the US military and diplomatic efforts to resolve an ongoing military conflict.

Will we now get a McCain Arrogance watch?

I mean, they didn’t even have to edit this quote, and they certainly didn’t have to make up the fact that McCain has been playing President over a crisis, all the while getting advice from a conflicted lobbyist.

For now, it’s a short story on page 14. Let’s make some noise about the arrogant and dangerous John McCain.

  3. McAin’t, his corrupt corporate media allies, the criminal cabal in the off-White House, and their wealthy bankrollers behind the scenes WILL.STOP.AT.NOTHING.TO.CONTINUE.THEIR.CONTROL.OVER.US.POLITICS.AND ECONOMICS. A supine Congress, a confused and marginalized US public, and a massive, concerted and “subtle” mass propaganda scheme undergird their efforts.

    Millions of Americans accepting the truth they’d rather not see, and acting together to put a stop to the cheney/bush/plutocratic criminal enterprise is our primary hope at this point. That is all.

  6. comment for Vian,
    stay off the blogs until you take a english writting class or at least learn how to us spell check. Second, stay of the blogs until you have gone to your local recruiter and signed up to serve in the McSame backed army of Georgia. Why is McCain not talking about how he went behind the american people and the elected presidents back and gave the Georgian president the green light to murder 2000 South Ossettians and brought the wrath of Russia down on the people of Georgia for $800,000.00. You bad, run over there and fight.
