Obama vs. the other guy, 2008

Obama on O’Reilly Factor Thursday

Obama is gonna do it live:

Senator Barack Obama will appear on Fox News’s O’Reilly Factor tonight, a Democratic source tells Politico.

The move is timed to counterprogram the Republican National Convention, which is likely to drive Fox’s ratings sky-high and to give Obama access to a conservative audience.

It’s Obama’s first appearance on the widely-viewed cable show, and is a sign of what Vanity Fair today reported is a “tentative true” between Obama and News Corp. chief Rupert Murdoch.

Obama clashed with Fox News during the primary after it aired early reports suggesting he had been a Muslim in Indonesia. The relationship warmed in May, however, when he appeared on Fox News Sunday and told its host, Chris Wallace, that he was “looking forward” to appearing on the O’Reilly Factor.

This is obviously surprising. However, Obama did promise to go on the show in New Hampshire previously. This is certainly a ballsy decision as Bill will trot out his usual nonsense. I’d expect some questions on Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers and other incendiary issues.

Update: Looks like it is Thursday.

  2. Omigod. I just realized that in choosing Palin, they are using Rove’s tactics of creating wedge issues that might pull the electorate from Obama. It’s actually quite brilliant.

Forget the gender and experience stuff. They are trying to turn the election from economic and national security to the hot button social issues that have teared us up so much: abortion, “state’s rights,” who gets to own “American culture,” etc.

Wow. I hope that Obama keeps asking: are you better off than you were 8 years ago. Do you have greater access to healthcare, college education, home ownership, etc.?

While I think it’s great that the media is finally questioning McCain’s judgment, I now see that they put her on because they were failing to put the ballot questions regarding affirmative action, gay marraige rights, and, yes, abortion rights.

If we allow America to be divided by Rove, Bush and his cronies, we are in serious trouble.

  3. Suzie, gotta disagree with you. The abortion stuff THIS time plays to Obama’s advantage. Majorities of the country, and certainly large majorities of women are pro abortion-rights. There are still women who think McCain is pro-choice. The pick of Palin ends that argument.

  4. WHAT! Oh gosh Senator NO, don’t do it. Why would you go on O’Really? NO, NO, NO! That network is evil and full of evil doers.

  5. the only evil is Obama, his highly socialist upbringing and the sick notion of a worker’s paradise that his idol Alinsky espoused.

Then again i bet no one on this board knows who Alinsky is, or what a “community organizer” really is.

  6. Obama’s “highly socialist upbringing?” Interesting, David. Tell us more. Really.

  7. socialist upbringing as in sitting in the black liberation theology church for 20 years, on a board and friends with Ayers the terrorist, teaching socialism in chicago, his oh-so-convienient letter of recomendation to get into harvard..

  8. Hey guys, how can you say that Fox is an evil network with evil doers when most of them are just sharing another point of view in the newsworld where everyone else is so far liberal its sickening. And liberal democrats, like obama, are the ones who say partial birth abortion is okay an should be legal (letting the baby’s legs come out of the mother but not the head while they jam an instrument in the back of its neck up inside of the woman to kill the baby), but then they are worried about a certain type of rare bird of the gulf coast that might be effected if we drill for more oil….. where’s the morality in that?!

  9. Obama,

You are the first candidate the U.S. has had in a long time that has continued to spread false information from the first time you hit the campaign trail.

I find your technique one of the most offensive I have ever experienced. I find your ethics are on the border of being unethical and your manipulation of the facts most disgusting.

It is common knowledge that the media will always press United States citizens to vote for the candidate who offers them the biggest kick-backs, pay-backs, and over-all “favors”. That is you, Obama.

Then look at your over all personas: Your stance, the way you hold your head, your gestures, the clothes you wear, the pronouns and adjectives you use. Everything about you is the personification of an individual, who does NOT, let me repeat DOES NOT, have the United States citizens interests’ at heart. You are an elitist and the persona I just described is living proof — your entire appearance is proof — FACT — of what I say.

Okay – now let’s talk about education. You have a law degree but did not practice law. Why? Readers – look this one up and you will see why. And, the result is not a positive one.

Then there is the community organizer work you undertook in the state of Illinois. That, too, has been overstated and turned into something “positive” that it in fact was NOT. Dear readers – check this one out yourself as there are many Illinois citizens who will tell you the “truth.”

My education – NOBAMA – is equal to or greater than your education. I do have the same ability as you to influence U.S. Citizens: And I certainly am taking the opportunity to exploit you for what you truly are.

You see I am an educator, who works for a famous “Research One” institution, who has the ability to write Journal Articles that all college students will use for research. The true facts about you will come out and in a place that will most definitely do the most good – to influence voters “young voters” on how to spot an individual who does not represent the United States in the capacity as he states he will. Make no mistake, Obama, people will definitely know the subject of the Journal Articles is referencing you and your 2008 Presidential campaign.

See you in “honest” fact-finding print.
