Obama vs. the other guy, 2008

Gallup: Obama Maintains Lead 49-42

Foghorn Leghorn and Droopy Dog result in a bounce of -1.

Now, we should prepare ourselves for a potential bounce after the Palin speech. Notwithstanding the repeated lies in her speech, Palin should not be underestimated, at least as far as riling up the base. I have no idea how it will play to the country at large. And there is some evidence that her speech bombed with independent voters:

“I was completely underwhelmed. She was a Republican novelty act with a sophomoric script. It was not even a speech I would expect for a someone running for the local PTA, much less for vice president.”

— George Lentz, 66, Southfield independent

We’ll have to wait for a few more days to see if she was effective beyond the GOP base and media chuckleheads.

  1. I gave Palin an A+.
She was able to stand at the podium and read the Rick Davis written script. She did not fall down or mispronounce any words, therefore, she met expectations.

  2. Was this speech class? Or, are we trying to decide who is going to help us get out of this ditch and move forward?

What are these people trying to conserve anyway? They think that they can use old ideas to new situations, and it just doesn’t work. Seriously, when can we transfer our jails to Mars and take McCain, Palin, Black, Graham and all other Bush-Cheney-McCain cronies out of here?

I’m sick of it. My favorite line was about “European values.” Um, last time I checked, “European values” has helped to run up the value of the Euro and Pound against the American dollar.
