Palin’s speech almost matched Obama’s in terms of audience, 37 million.

  2. She’s a novelty, so people are curious. They never mentioned a single policy issue. I really do think that most people are looking for solutions.

It’s positive that Obama and Biden, among other Democrats, have been saying that there’s no policy discussion at the RNC. I think that Joe Biden should’ve said something like, “McCain and Palin have been talking alot about being a maverick. Well, where’s the moose? What are you going to do differently than Bush-Cheney? Absolutely nothing. Bush-, excuse me, McCain-Palin are nothing more than four more years of the same.”

  3. 🙂

Marc Ambinder: An Obama aide passes this news along:

$8 million raised since Palin’s speech from over 130,000 donors – on pace to hit $10 million by the time John McCain hits the stage tonight.

The Palin pick energized Republicans…… and has given a jolt to Democrats, too. (The RNC has raised $1m since Palin’s speech.)

“Sarah Palin’s attacks have rallied our supporters in ways we never expected,” says Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton. “And we fully expect John McCain’s attacks tonight to help us make our grassroots organization even stronger.”

  5. I am not surprised about those numbers. People are interested in what she has to say since she is new to the scene and we are all watching it to critique what she said. So of course the number of viewers is larger. What is more interesting is that many independents are learning her views are seem to be shifting in our direction. Hopefully that is case. She is a fundamentalist and that does not wash well with them.
